Twelve Step Facilitation Therapy (TSF) In 2008 TSF underwent an extensive peer review and was selected for inclusion in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). The NREPP is a resource that is used by individuals and organizations who wish to insure that they are utilizing evidence-based treatments. In 2009 TSF was included as an evidence-based practice in the latest edition of the National Institute of Drug Abuse publication Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment: A Research Based Guide. "TSFDD" is currently being evaluated in a 5-year clinical trial sponsored by NIAAA and implemented at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
